Freedom is under attack at home like never before in our history. As vaccine mandates sweep the country, churches stay silent as people are fired for obeying their conscience, businesses fall slavishly in line with tyrannical government orders, and President Biden despotically divides the country into vaccinated (good) unvaccinated (bad). Our future looks as dark and as foreboding as Mordor:
This isn’t the first time…
Woodrow Wilson imposed and incited extraordinary repressions: “There are citizens of the United States… born under other flags… who have poured the poison of disloyalty into the very arteries of our national life… Such creatures of passion, disloyalty and anarchy must be crushed out… They are infinitely malignant, and the hand of our power should close over them.”
His Committee on Public Information churned out domestic propaganda instructing the public how to detect pro-German sympathies. A twenty-two year old Justice Department official named J. Edgar Hoover administered a program that photographed, fingerprinted, and interrogated 500,000 suspects. Local newspapers published the names of people who were not buying war bonds or otherwise supporting the war. People were fired or ostracized for insufficient enthusiasm. The Espionage Act of 1917 made it a crime to “collect, record, publish or communicate information useful to the enemy.” [1]
Nor do we need to look that far back for examples of popular support for crushing thoughtful dissent.
On September 14, 2001, the House of Representatives voted 420-to-1 that “the President is authorized to use all necessary and appropriate force against those nations, organizations, or persons he determines planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, or harbored such organizations or persons.” [2]
The lone dissenting voice was Representative Barbara Lee:
In return for her extraordinary act of courage, she “was deluged with rancid insults and death threats” and was accused of being “anti-American” by many mainstream publications including The Wall Street Journal. [2]
But today, 20 years later, we see that the lone dissenting voice was right.
Those of us who are not scared by different health choices - we will be proven right in the long run. Mandatory mass vaccination will eventually crumble under its own weight of necessary lies, censorship, marketing-by-fear and tyranny.
You can fool all of the people some of the time
And some of the people all of the time
But you cannot fool all of the people all of the time
- A. Lincoln
What would Frodo do?
No matter how bad it seems now, even with the difficulty, stress and uncertainty many of us are facing, there is always hope when you are determined to find it.
In The Lord of the Rings, the most powerful force of Evil was defeated by the least likely adversary: a tiny, humble hobbit named Frodo. Frodo was scared and uncertain about what to do most of the time. He didn’t volunteer for the job. But he never gave up. He understood that everything he loved depended upon his resolve.
Frodo was rarely alone. His friends accompanied him on the long, treacherous journey.
We can do the same.
One of the services VaxCalc provides is an always-and-forever-free vaccine-choice online community called the VaxCalc Forum. “Forum” means “a place, meeting, or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged.”
The VaxCalc Forum is a global community, providing a place to connect regarding vaccines and medical freedoms in a positive way, without the fear, hate, or censorship pervading current mainstream news, social media, and doctor’s offices. We support and stand with each other on this long, treacherous journey.
Joining our free community is easy: just send an email to join@vaxcalc.org and you’ll receive an invite in less than 30 seconds.
The experiment that almost didn’t happen
We dumped our traditional email list provider to launch here on Substack.
Yet… we almost didn’t launch. Doubts crept in… I wasn’t sure there would be much support in the form of paid subscribers…. and we already have so much we need to handle just to keep going.
But then a few people paid for subscriptions to this newsletter when there wasn’t even a newsletter yet! THANK YOU! You really inspired me to throw my hat over the wall!
I don’t know exactly what this newsletter will look like or where it will go over the next few months and into 2022. But I can promise you that it will be an adventure and like Frodo, we will not give up. Ever.
Please consider becoming a paid subscriber so that we can dedicate more of our time and resources to supporting and expanding freedom for everybody. Freedom depends upon civility and dissent. We need you with us.
Carpe diem!
—Chris
p.s. — this is what we’re up to here at VaxCalc HQ:
Our purpose (at VaxCalc) is to create a happier, healthier, and a more scientific and resilient world by empowering each individual to make their own vaccination decisions - with the tools, technology, planning capability, research and community they need to do it.
We will not stop until we democratize vaccination by changing it from "do as you are told" to "a customizable choice" in which everybody has a say in what they do or don’t do.
